What is now one of the largest Earth Day celebrations in the country, started as a community-organized event in 1989 and still feels “home grown.” The two-day, outdoor Festival features over 200 regional vendors and exhibitors, and attracts more than 60,000 visitors. It is the premier destination in the region to learn about environmental issues and solutions in a fun, family-friendly atmosphere of celebration. Artists, musicians, dancers, and street performers entertain visitors; guests enjoy local food and beverages, and hands-on activities are an important part of the Festival.
Its Opening Day
Looking around the market, we see several vendors who emigrated to the United States and are now creating jobs and boosting the local economy. Here's a snapshot of where some of them are from: England, Mexico, Bulgaria, Cuba, Colombia, Indonesia, India, Peru, Lebanon, and Syria. We are grateful for their work!
